Fire Alerting System Developed By Brabourne

Brabourne Communications Ltd (BCL) has developed a bespoke communications solution for Kingston Maurward College in Dorset.
Set in an 800 acre estate the college required a more efficient system to assist with staff communications in and around the site. Kingston Maurward House is not only the location of the college but also hosts weddings, functions and has its own restaurant. With such a variety of activities taking place on one site a much more advanced solution was required to replace the existing system. This used a range of disparate technologies to provide a limited source of onsite communications and fire alerting. Users were required to carry three handsets at any time and the existing fire alerting system had limited voice communicating facilities.Working closely with staff at the College, BCL have developed a much more advanced and effective solution. A new repeater and antenna installation and high tier handsets with full DTMF (telephone interconnect) capability have been installed, providing coverage across the whole estate. The system has also been integrated to a Honeywell Fire alarm so that fire and intruder alarms can be displayed on the radios even if the user is some miles away.
A fire or intruder alarm signal, activated within the main building will be sent via the repeater and a base station controller utilizing specially developed software to the Entel HX426 Portable radios. The radio will then display the relevant zone where the alarm has been generated thus allowing senior management to respond more effectively even if they are some distance from the college building.
The BCL Fire Alarm Warning System (FAWS) is ideal for any organisation where remote alerting is required. With fewer staff employed in business and industry this solution will increase effectiveness whilst minimising costs. Lone worker, man down and emergency features are all incorporated.
