Brabourne Wins 2 Major Oil Industry Contracts

Brabourne Communications Ltd is assisting two oil companies in Libya with major upgrades to their existing legacy radio networks.
Brabourne Communications Ltd has many years experience operating in the Libyan communications sector. BCL has recently been awarded contracts by two oil companies operating in Libya the first of which included a VHF radio network to replace legacy systems at 5 locations throughout the country. The system comprises 22 Simoco TSF2100 100 watt VHF base stations with automatic changeover facilities, the single largest order ever placed for this high tier repeater. BCL chose AW Communications DCRS1 base station controllers to control the repeaters and Tait Orca portable radios. The radios were selected for their Factory Mutual intrinsic safety approval in VHF low band [66-88MHz]. Mobile and fixed mobile radios from Motorola complete the package. The Sailor range of mobile and fixed mobile radios were selected to fulfil the marine band requirement as they offer the best combination of rugged design, reliability and best price. BCL is an independent systems integrator. We are therefore able to select the most suitable products from all the leading manufacturers to provide our clients with bespoke solutions and intelligent communications. The second Libyan contract awarded to BCL comprised 10 Simoco TSF2025 VHF low band base stations with associated antenna systems, 60 Simoco SRP9030 desktop radios and vehicle radios and Tait Orca 5020 VHF FMIS portable radios. The TSF2025 base stations will again be controlled by 10 AW Communications DCR1 base station controllers. These two contracts provide further evidence of the confidence our Libyan clients have in BCL and the support we provide through our own local technical support centre in Tripoli.
